Hull Web Design Project: Head-On Renewables have over 25 years of experience in the electrical and renewable energy industry. They install solar panels, battery storage and electric vehicle chargers for homes & businesses in the Hull, East Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire region. Head-On Renewables engaged us to develop a new website. They cater to homeowners and businesses in the Hull, East Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire region, offering solar panels, solar battery storage systems, and electric vehicle chargers.

The aim of this project was to design a user-friendly website to attract enquiries and provide information about the services offered. The primary call to action on the site was “Get a Quote”.

We started by establishing the colour scheme of the site based on the client’s logo, focusing on two primary colours: Navy Blue and Light Blue. We then procured a range of stock images, prominently featuring solar panels on houses, electric car chargers, and satisfied customers.

To create a clear and engaging aesthetic, we opted for a bold title font and a regular text font with a weight of 400. A boxed theme was implemented throughout the site’s design elements, excluding border radius in most cases. This approach promoted a clean, streamlined look that conveyed a sense of professionalism and quality.

We designed a dropdown menu on the main page, listing the services provided by Head-On Renewables, each linking to a dedicated page. These pages included comprehensive information about the corresponding service, as well as a clear call to action prompting users to “Get a Quote”.

SEO was a critical component of this project. We included an optimal number of keywords on each page to enhance performance for search terms associated with solar panels, battery storage, and electric vehicle chargers. The main keywords were incorporated into headings and page titles to improve visibility. Furthermore, custom meta titles and meta descriptions were added to all significant pages, including the homepage, to help with search engine rankings.

The website was built using WordPress CMS, a robust and flexible platform that allows for efficient content management. Special attention was paid to mobile responsiveness, ensuring that the site could be easily navigated on smartphones, providing an excellent user experience across all devices.

The outcome of the project was a sleek, professional, and user-friendly website that effectively communicates the client’s services and values. The site is well-optimised for search engines, with a focus on targeted keywords that align with the interests of homeowners and businesses seeking renewable energy solutions.
