Hull Web Design & SEO Project: Kingston Cleaning Services are a Hull commercial cleaning company who have been providing expert cleaning services for over 70 years. They pride themselves on delivering cost-effective cleaning services that make a positive difference, whether their team is carrying out a specialist deep clean on a high-risk industrial site, or pressure washing a domestic driveway.

KCS already had a distinctive logo and colour scheme – blue and yellow – featured on their company vans. We integrated these existing elements into the fresh website we crafted for them. Merging these with high-quality images supplied by the client and a handful of select stock images, we created a visually appealing and contemporary layout that is user-friendly and easy to navigate.

For the typeface, we selected modern sans serif fonts that are simple to read, lending a professional air to the site. The website is built on WordPress, the world’s most prevalent content management system, making updates and maintenance straightforward.

We organised the website’s menu layout into categories such as company information, services provided (exterior & other), sectors served, and then standard pages like a gallery page, contact page, and quote page. The main call to action was designed to prompt visitors to request a quote, with secondary emphases on enabling telephone calls and other forms of contact such as email.

As with all the websites we design, the Kingston Cleaning Services website is mobile-friendly and fully optimised for search engines such as Google. It’s easily navigated on all devices, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable user experience.

During the design process, we paid particular attention to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) improvements. We created individual pages for all the services provided and the sectors served. These pages were enhanced with bespoke meta titles and meta descriptions, and the optimal amount of keywords were incorporated to ensure they perform well for search terms associated with each page. Main keywords were included in headings and page titles.

After being live for 2-3 months, significant improvements have been observed in Google rankings for search terms the company aimed to rank well for. For instance, “Commercial cleaning company Hull” has climbed from rank #14 to rank #1, and “Industrial cleaning company Hull” has climbed from rank #22 to rank #1.

In addition to the SEO enhancements, we also manage a Google Ads PPC (pay-per-click) campaign for Kingston Cleaning Services. This means that an advert for their website is displayed at the top of Google Search when people search for related keywords. This strategy has been successful in driving more traffic to the website and generating regular enquiries from potential customers, a great number of which have converted into paying customers.
